Bill and I had the pleasure of booking Laura and her husband-to-be, Joe for their wedding in late 2013. We were all instant friends and we knew we would have a blast when Laura said her and Joe were interested in doing a "Kitchen" themed engagement session! Laura and Joe met while she was a catering manager for a company that Joe works for as a pro chef...so the kitchen idea just made sense! However, we ran into the difficulty of not having the "right" kitchen to make our idea come to life. Laura and Joe live in the city and therefore have a small home kitchen -- Bill and I are the same way. Laura really didn't want to use her parent's kitchen and none of us were visualizing an industrial kitchen that Joe would work in. Soooo we put out a SOS for a fabulous kitchen to all of our friends on Facebook and within minutes someone answered. The best part of the story is that the someone that answered was the Maid of Honor at a wedding we shot back in 2011. We were thrilled to have her offer her amazing kitchen to us for this oh so fun session! As with all "themed" shoots, we worked in the kitchen for about 20-30 minutes and then headed outside for beautiful sunset photos! It worked out in the end and Laura and Joe finished the day with new friends and awesome Save-The-Dates!
